In the Absence of God: Dwelling in the Presence of the Sacred

(Harmony Books) In this book, the author addresses provocative questions regarding religion today, with an aim to recover the experience of the sacred in everyday life. What does religion offer us in the modern world? How has religion failed us?   Is there an alternative to the choice between religious fundamentalism and atheism? How can religion address the challenges and violence we face daily? He argues that people of varied religions can bridge the differences that have divided them, realizing their religious commonality and renewing their relationships with God. Keen has written 13 books on philosophy and religion, served as an editor of Psychology Today, and co-produced the Emmy-nominated PBS documentary Faces of the Enemy .
