Adaptations: Disquisitions on Psychoanalysis 1997-2006

(Word Association) In this collection of 10 speeches patterned after the style of Sigmund Freud and coupled with the humor of standup comedy, Freeman chronicles the efforts of modern psychoanalysts to hold onto their dignity and identity while adapting to the marketplace. A CD of three live performances of these monologues and one studio session accompanies the book. Freeman is a practicing psychoanalyst, psychiatrist, and theater/film consultant. He also is a faculty member of the departments of psychiatry at the Harvard and Boston University medical schools.
