Another Faust
(Candlewick Press) Another Faust re-creates the story of the Faustian bargain in present day New York. Years after five children disappear across four cities in a single night, five enigmatic teenagers appear at an exclusive New York holiday party with their strange but beautiful governess, Madame Vileroy. They go on to attend the elite Marlowe school, where they bring unexplainable misfortune, wielding a series of “gifts” presented to them by Madame Vileroy. Ultimately these gifts become darker, and the Faust children live cursed lives, making deals with the devil as they claw their way toward their goals. Another Faust is the first book in “Another Series,” a collection of modern-spun classic tales designed to encourage young adult audiences to read the classics. Daniel Nayeri is a writer and editor in New York City. Dina Nayeri lives and writes in Amsterdam.
