The authors measure current controversies against philosophies of Aristotle, Locke, Kant, and Machiavelli, and against historic decisions and discuss both the behavior and justifications of the George W. Bush administration and government officials as a whole. Fried is a Beneficial Professor of Law at Harvard Law School.
