Beyond Trans: Does Gender Matter?

Beyond Trans (NYU Press) pushes the conversation about gender to its limits, questioning why we need gender categories in the first place. Through examination of court cases and news, and his own personal experience, Heath Fogg Davis *98 challenges this system and provides recommendations to alleviate sex-identity discrimination. Davis is an associate professor of political science at Temple University and author of The Ethics of Transracial Adoption (Cornell University Press).
