(Apollonian Press) This novel follows the story of an American professor invited in 1970 to teach for a year at a university in Budapest, Hungary. Before he goes, he is contacted by the U.S. government, which would like him to “do something for us” while he is there. The story then unfolds in Hungary against the backdrop of Iron Curtain communism. Conquest taught English at Georgetown University.
