The Book Rescuer (Paul Wiseman/Simon & Schuster) highlights MacArthur Grant winner Aaron Lansky’s attempts to find books written in Yiddish books. He expected to find about 700,000, but by searching everywhere, including in attics and dumpsters, Lansky rescued more than 1 million books. Author Sue Macy ’76 and illustrator Stacy Innerst celebrate Lansky’s quest to document and preserve the story of American’s Jewish immigrants.
