Chains Across the River (Honeycomb Publishers) tells the story of Thomas Machin, a British deserter in the American Revolution who swapped sides and worked for General George Washington. Longstreth shines a light on Manchin, a relatively unexplored historical figure, design and installed chains at Fort Montgomery and West Point in attempts to obstruct the British armada.
