Criminal Ingenuity: Moore, Cornell, Ashbery, and the Struggle Between the Arts
(Oxford University Press) By examining a series of linked moments and the works of artists in these moments, the author looks at the transfer of cultural power from the sphere of the world to the sphere of the image. Levy analyzes the works of poets Marianne Moore and John Ashbery and assemblage artist Joseph Cornell. Levy is a visiting associate professor at Pratt Institute.
