Crocodiles and Other Tales

(Meriam Hill Music) Daniel Goodman ’82 plays the piano and Jack McCreless narrates children’s stories about Tom Thumb, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Lyle the Crocodile, and other characters on this CD. Lyle the Crocodile is original music written for Goodman by composer John Tarrh, using as his text the well-loved children's book Lyle the Crocodile, by Bernard Waber. Tom Thumb is a setting by composer and musicologist Ruth Crawford Seeger, which lay unpublished in the Library of Congress until recently completed by her daughter (and well-known folk singer) Peggy Seeger. Goodman and McCreless have performed together for 25 years and in the 1990s they formed a Klezmer and jazz band called Neshama. The CD is available on iTunes and on CD Baby.
