In the aftermath of devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina in 2005, many areas, including New Orleans were forced to rebuild and reignite the spirit of the city. In Death, Resurrection, and The Spirit of New Orleans (Jazz on the Tube) McCarthy tells the story of how New Orleans was able to revitalize and come back better. Focusing especially on the city’s music scene, the book includes interviews with some of the musicians who helped propel the city forward and links to videos of important historical events.
