(Carolina Academic Press) Patrick comprehensively addresses the use of force by law enforcement officers in this book, through survey and analysis of the standards that allow officers to use force. Many case histories are cited to back up chapters that discuss tactics, training, policy, and many other subjects. Patrick worked for the FBI from 1973 to 1997, and is now a consultant in issues involving force, weaponry, and police practices.
