Steve Badanes *71, Jim Adamson ’70, and John Ringel *71 are the driving forces behind Jersey Devil, an architecture group that pioneered the design/build method, which promotes the idea that an architect’s job goes beyond just designing to include construction as well. Design/Build With Jersey Devil by Charlie Hailey ’92 is a field manual that relies on Jersey Devil’s experience to explain to students and teachers the philosophy and practice of design/build. Hailey is an architecture professor at the University of Florida.
