(Rodopi) This book looks closely at the relationship between pluralism and Western literature and criticism over the past three centuries. Difference Unbound emphasizes the historical reasons for what the author calls “the rise of literary pluralism.” Metzidakis explores how literature’s current emphasis on difference comes from an adherence to cultural pluralism. He is a professor of French and comparative literature at Washington University in Saint Louis.
