This book examines the relationship between discrimination and unequal outcomes in the appropriate geographical and historical context. Centeno is a professor of sociology and international affairs at Princeton University. Newman is the James Knapp Dean of the Krieger School of the Arts and Sciences at Johns Hopkins University.
