Evan, the privileged nephew of a conservative Southern senator, and Alma, the daughter of illegal Mexican immigrants, fall in love, ignoring their differences. But when Immigration and Customs Enforcement conducts raids on their Georgia town, Alma must tell Evan she’s undocumented. Dream Things True, a novel for young adults, explores the complications of immigration and the plight of undocumented minors.
