Dreams of a Lifetime: How Who We Are Shapes How We Imagine Our Future
It is often taken for granted that everyone, regardless of background or identity, has the same capacity to dream. Cerulo and Ruane challenge this notion in their new book, Dreams of a Lifetime (Princeton University Press). Drawing upon interviews with people of diverse backgrounds, they show how sociocultural disparities and life experiences can affect the contents of our dreams — and crucially, whether we believe those dreams can come true.
