(Princeton University Press) Tignor covers the history of Egypt from its start 5,000 ago to today. He covers topics ranging from the Greek and Roman conquests and Napoleon’s 1798 invasion to Egypt in the modern day, as a postcolonial state. A new afterword also examines the recent events of the Arab Spring in Egypt. Tignor is the Rosengarten Professor of Modern and Contemporary History, Emeritus, at Princeton University.
