Elverhoj
The word Elverhoj which is Danish for “hill of the fairies” refers to an arts and crafts colony established by Anders Anderson on the shore of the Hudson River in 1912. Despite the colony’s renowned legacy at the time, its history has become quite obscure. Authors Melvin and Rhoads have set out to change that with the publication of this book. Elverhoj (Black Dome Press) includes more than 160 illustrations from an archive kept by Anderson to uncover the story of the colony and offer an extensive account of its history.
