Kushanava Choudhury ’00 immigrated to the United States with his parents at age 12, but after graduating from college, he returned to Calcutta — to the city of his childhood, a city far past its prime. The Epic City (Bloomsbury) paints a sobering but sometimes-humorous portrait of the everyday lives of the residents of Calcutta, people Choudhury gets to know as he returns to his hometown.
