In his latest biography, Leo Damrosch *68 charts the life of the enigmatic, 18th-century poet William Blake. Drawing on Blake’s poems, paintings, and etchings and engravings, Damrosch acts as a guide through Blake’s mind and counterculture vision of the world as an “eternity here and now.” Damrosch is a research professor of literature at Harvard University and the author of Jean-Jacques Rousseau: Restless Genius and Jonathan Swift: His Life and His World.
