The Ethical Project
(Harvard University Press) Kitcher approaches the question of what ethics is, and how best to answer ethical questions, drawing on fields like evolutionary theory, primatology, archaeology, anthropology, psychology, and history. He suggests that ethics is a collective human achievement that evolved over millennia as people began to live together. Kitcher is the John Dewey Professor of Philosophy at Columbia University.
