(Northeastern University Press) In this critical assessment of the research related to domestic violence offenders, Gondolf advocates a progressive evolution of domestic violence intervention rather than an overhaul with more in-psychological treatment. The book presents a broad picture of batterer intervention and makes recommendations for heightened engagement of men, ongoing risk management, and better coordination of courts and services. Gondolf is a professor emeritus of sociology at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and has written nine other books on wife abuse.
