The Great Gatsby: An Edition of the Manuscript (Cambridge University Press), is a manuscript of the novel just one year before it was published, and contains many differences from the version that finally went to print in 1925. The introduction, written in part by Don C. Skemer, a rare books and special collections librarian, discusses Fitzgerald’s process of writing and rewriting the novel for three years before it was finally published.
