Guerillas USA: The George Jackson Brigade and the Anticapitalist Underground of the 1970s

(University of California Press) This book chronicles the George Jackson Brigade’s three-year campaign in the mid-1970s against corporate and state institutions in the Pacific Northwest. The groups used various forms of violence — from bombings and bank robberies — to try to affect social change. Burton-Rose makes use of interviews with many of the existing members of the Brigade, allowing him to present the story through their eyes. Burton-Rose is a graduate student in East Asian Studies at Princeton University.
