Hearing Your Story: Songs of History and Life for Sand Roses

(UNO Press) In Hearing Your Story, Algerian poet Nabile Farès presents a tale of the Western Sahara and its people, the Sahrawi. Told in seven cantos, this long poem was originally written in Spanish and then translated into French by the author. Thompson now provides the first English translation of the poem in a trilingual version that preserves the textual play of the bilingual original. Thompson teaches at Roger Williams University in Providence.
