Peter Rupert Lighte *81, the founding chairman of J.P. Morgan Chase Bank China, chronicles his sheltered Jewish upbringing in New York, his academic fascination with China, and his struggle to embrace his sexuality in his memoir Host of Memories: Tales of Inevitable Happenstance. On a restless search for belonging, Lighte worked and lived throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia, ultimately ending up in Princeton, where he is finally at home with his husband and two daughters.
