(Elisha Freeman Publishing) Houston Hearts tells the story of how Houston became known as “the heart capital of the world.” Told by many of those who participated in the transformation pioneered by world-renowned cardiac surgeon Michael E. DeBakey, the book is a history of seven decades of cardiovascular surgery and medicine at Houston Methodist Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine. Winters is a senior attending staff member in the department of cardiology at Houston Methodist Hospital.
