The children’s book Hues and Harmony (Black Rose Writing) tells the story of a gray caterpillar who feels she doesn’t belong in a brightly colored world. On a trip to visit her parents she passes through The Land of Yellow and Blue, The Land of Red and Yellow, and The Land of Red and Blue before arriving at The Land of Black and White. Along the way the gray caterpillar learns the she does belong. She goes on to become a brightly-colored butterfly that is destined to spread encouragement so others realize they belong too. “Are you green, orange, purple, or gray? Don’t be sad; you’re okay.”
