There are often huge disparities between governments’ stated commitment to protect civilians undertake peace operations and their willingness to allocate resources to see those commitments through. Humanitarian Hypocrisy (Cornell University Press) argues that political compromises lead governments to institute policies that try to help but overlook the most important needs of the individuals they are supposed to serve.
