Impasse (Stanford University Press) encourages readers to overcome the urge to ignore climate change and face the reality of Earth’s future. On societal, political, and individual levels, it is tempting to deny the serious consequences of global warming. Scranton explores the many factors that have led to so much tension and division regarding a topic that should unite us all. Only by accepting that we are in danger can we begin to address the issue of climate change.
