Inner Sanctum: Memory and Meaning in Princeton’s Faculty Room at Nassau Hall

(Princeton University Press) In this book, Kusserow, who curated the Princeton University Art Museum’s exhibition, Inner Sanctum, explores the history of the Faculty Room, its role as the symbolic center of the University, and how the space and portraits reflect broader sociocultural trends. In addition to a chapter by Kusserow, the book includes essays by professor emerita Toni Morrison, history professor Sean Wilentz, professor of religion and African-American studies Eddie S. Glaude Jr. *97, and a poem by Professor Paul Muldoon. Kusserow is an associate curator of American art at the Princeton University Art Museum.
