Published Jan. 21, 2016

(Connor Court Publishing) This book discusses how good leadership can be promoted, drawing on examples of leaders from Nelson Mandela to Margaret Thatcher. It particularly looks at the vision of Cecil Rhodes to promote international peace through scholarships, and the importance of the spirit of a university and student engagement in campus extra-curricular life. Markwell was a visiting scholar in the Woodrow Wilson School from 1984 to 1985, and he helped initiate the review of undergraduate women’s leadership at Princeton. He is the executive director of the Menzies Research Centre in Australia.
