John E. Parsons: An Eminent New Yorker in the Gilded Age

Paul Hicks ’58’s John E. Parsons (Prospectica Press), tells the story of one of the most prominent New Yorkers at the turn of the 20th century. A philanthropist, attorney, and reformer, Parsons helped put an end to the corruption of the “Boss” Tweed’s Tammany Hall Politicians. Author Hicks is a retired managing director of JPMorgan. His first novel was Joseph Henry Lumpkin: Georgia’s First Chief Justice (University of Georgia Press).
