Kill Class (Tupelo) is a collection of poetry set amidst the forests of Pineland, an area in North Carolina where U.S. Army Special Forces practice war games. An anthropology post-doc (and creative writing lecturer), Nomi Stone spent two years in Pineland as a participating actor in the games, and the poems in the collection are directly informed by her anthropological study.
