The Koran in English (Princeton University Press) revisits the life of Muhammad and origins of the Koran before discussing the earliest translation into Latin by a non-Muslim. From there, Lawrence ’62 explains how many early translations resulted in grudging respect from Christians, and he discusses the many versions of the Koran in English today, from cyber Korans to feminist versions to a graphic Koran.
