(Georgetown University Press) An incisive look into law’s virtues — both in terms of law as a teacher of virtue and as a virtuous tool in and of itself — this book deals with the relationship between troubling “life issues” and the law in pluralistic liberal democracies such as the United States. Looking into practices such as abortion and euthanasia, Kaveny delves into the role of law in our society and its intersection with morality. Kaveny is John P. Murphy Foundation Professor of Law and Professor of Theology at the University of Notre Dame.
