Caño draws on her identities as a Latina, first-generation college student, clinical psychologist, and higher education administrator in her new book, Leading Toward Liberation (Hopkins Press). This guide challenges readers to reimagine the academic possibilities if leadership at these institutions were rooted in liberation and equity. Caño lays out actionable steps institutions can take, including crafting values-driven visions and leading with courage, to create real and necessary changes. With this book, Caño hopes to inspire a shift away from the unhealthy cultures that persists in many educational settings.
