(Elsewhen Press) In her debut novel of literary science fiction, Ozdural depicts a near future in which a secretive organization has developed the technology to transfer the regenerative power of a body’s cells from one person to another. As a means of controlling who benefits from this technology, access is obtained through competition in selective tournaments of chess or bridge, which allow players to literally gamble their lives. Set primarily in Princeton, the novel focuses on the motivations of those who participate in gambling with their lives. Ozdural lives in New York where she practices law.
