Aldo Leopold, who many considered the father of wildlife ecology, and his wife, Estella, are the focus of this book. It explores their experiences in Tres Piedras, New Mexico, while Aldo served as the Carson National Forest Supervisor. The book offers insights on archaeology, geology, American settlement history and more, and it includes stunning photos curated by Annette Rubin. Richard Rubin also provides his reflections on the wisdom he’s gained from ecological scientists and teachers. Proceeds from Living the Leopolds’ Mi Casita Ecology (Nighthawk Press) will go to the volunteer Friends of Mi Casita Fund at the Taos Community Foundation for cabin preservation and educational program support.
