John Franklin thinks he has a perfect marriage, but after examining his wife Elizabeth’s activities more closely, he realizes he has agreed to terms he doesn’t remember discussing. Romantic difficulties among the couple’s friends, relatives, and clients are explored in this novel, which explores what people will and won’t do for love.
