(Turning Point Books) Many of the narrative poems in this collection are inspired by or informed by the author's mother or the existence of mother in general. The collection includes nature poems, love poems, and poems of social commentary. The poet Peter Campion has said, “The details of the natural world, as well as the lives we make together as families, friends, and even individual daydreamers, come into radiant focus. Schwartz attends to her subjects with great sympathy, but she refuses to sentimentalize those subjects.” Schwartz is a poet, poetry filmmaker, photographer, and lyricist.
