Mary Watkins ’72’s Mutual Accompaniment and the Creation of the Commons (Yale University Press), has been called “A landmark book that maps a radical model not only for the ‘helping’ professions but for the work of solidarity.” Her book maps a radical model for solidarity drawing upon a combination of psychosocial understanding and political and cultural action. Watkins envisions a paradigm with profound implications for creating commons in the face of societal division and indifference to suffering.
