Myth America

It’s no secret that the lines between fact and fiction continue to blur —  and are further fueled by the false narratives promoted by conservative media. These narratives include the idea that immigrants are hostile invaders, feminists are anti-family, and initiatives like the New Deal were failures. The goal of Myth America (Basic Books) is to replace these various misconceptions with research and reality. It includes essays from historians Kathleen Belew, Akhil Reed Amar, Carol Anderson, and many more, to correct our understanding of American history.
