(Johns Hopkins University Press) Noncommunicable diseases are the leading causes of death worldwide, and 80 percent of these fatalities occur in developing countries. This book compiles essays on the five key areas that must be strengthened in order to make progress in the prevention and treatment of these diseases. Sturchio is a senior partner at Rabin Martin and former president and CEO of the Global Health Council.
