Published Jan. 21, 2016

(Princeton University Press) This fully revised textbook meets the needs of “heritage learners” who already speak some Chinese but require instruction in reading and writing fundamentals. It moves at a faster pace than those designed for absolute beginners, and contains topics that are especially relevant to heritage learners, such as growing up in a bicultural environment. Chou is a professor of East Asian studies at Princeton and director of the Chinese language and Princeton in Beijing programs. Link is an emeritus professor of East Asian studies at Princeton.
