Over the Rainbeau: Living the Dream of Sustainable Farming

(Rainbeau Ridge Publishing) This memoir chronicles Lisa Schwartz’s journey from tending a pair of goats to building a multifaceted sustainable farm in the New York City suburbs and becoming an award-winning cheese-maker. The book also features 64 recipes, suggestions for how to live a more sustainable lifestyle, and 30 full-color photograph pages (plus over 100 photographs on other pages). Schwartz is the founder and owner of Rainbeau Ridge farm, as well as its resident cheese-maker and herdswoman. Judith Hausman, whose work appears regularly in Westchester Magazine, is a local editor for Zagats Survey and has written about Rainbeau Ridge repeatedly as it has evolved. Karen Sabath, Schwartz’s sister, is an avid photographer whose experience in the financial industry has allowed her to help Schwartz expand the farm’s platform.
