Both a memoir and a retrospective, Poetry In Dangerous Times (Casa Urraca Press) is a collaborative collection that includes a dialogue between the two authors, as well as a variety of poems from both Sherman and Martinez. This volume explores the ways in which poetry and protest overlap, as both authors have  personal experiences with politics from the 1960s through the modern day. Sherman and Martinez underscore the power of the written word and call on readers to continue to fight for justice.
