(Princeton University Press) Vogel examines the shift in the politics of consumer and environmental risk regulation in the United States and Europe over the past several decades. He analyzes risks such as ozone depletion, beef and milk hormones, pesticides, and vehicle air pollution to determine why the United States has become less stringent toward risks than Europe since 1990. Vogel is a professor of business and politics at the University of California, Berkeley.
