Through interviews with the 12 soldiers and an army medic who cared for Saddam during his trial, readers learn new details and the long history of Iraq’s complex leader. Bardernwerper served as a Ranger-qualified infantry officer in Iraq and has contributed to the New York Times and Washington Post.
